Abstract
This phenomenological study explores the common lived experiences of international school administrators in Singapore as they lead using perspective-taking and cultural integration, two competencies of cultural agility, defined by Dr. Paula Caligiuri’s framework. As the world continues to globalize and international education becomes more popular, international school leaders must navigate the complexities of leading inclusive multicultural environments. By examining how international school administrators adopt perspective-taking and cultural integration, this study aims to uncover the culturally agile leadership practices exhibited by these administrators.
Findings from this study provide insights into leadership strategies that promote deeper understanding of leading effectively in international school settings. The results have implications for leadership development and training, highlighting the importance of cultural agility in educational leadership. By examining how these competencies shape leadership effectiveness, this research contributes to the broader discourse on culturally responsive leadership in globalized educational contexts.
